Abstract

What we know today with different titles of Humanities, Social Sciences, Moral Sciences or Spiritual Sciences has a historical background in the thought of Muslim sages in the topics of "practical wisdom". The practical wisdom that emerged in the Islamic period is a rational knowledge, along with laws, foundations, concepts, theories and elements required for a knowledge. The Practical Wisdom of the Islamic period is a knowledge that, while giving meaning to Practical Wisdom before the Islamic period, reveals its place among other virtues; In other words, based on the law and the components of a knowledge, it established an organization of science in which Practical Wisdom as a virtue is only one of its subjects. This article is trying to show that what is discussed today under the title of Human and Social sciences and Moral sciences, is actually a phenomenon whose origin was the Practical Wisdom of the Islamic period.
